Taking a closer look at the first amendment - THE
ESTABLISHMENT
CLAUSE...
Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of
religion.
What's it mean? I'm sure that with a thesaurus in hand, each
of the above colored words and phrases could be looked at in many ways. But what was the original intended meaning? And who will arrive at that conclusion? And when will folks stop taking it for
granted that it means "separation of Church and State" when those words
don't
appear at all?
Look at all the
ways
to re-define
the establishment clause. The
different colors are all synonymous. Look
at each color separately. What does
"respecting the establishment" mean? Everyone
has their own idea these days. Words
have more than one meaning. Is
"Establishment" a verb or a noun? Are you sure? Is
everybody else?
- Congress shall never make any laws at all regarding the business institutions of religion.
- Congress shall not make laws, pro or con regarding the starting of a state religion.
- Congress shall not allow any laws whereby religious establishments receive respect.
- Congress shall make sure there are no laws allowing human rights for the leaders of religions.
- Congress shall not allow any law to come into being that seeks to institute a single official religion for the U.S.
It is
plain
to see
that only number 5 is even close to what the founding fathers agreed
upon as
making sense for the country. Religious
freedom is freedom from religious tyranny, which is what they had in
the old
days. The establishment clause simply
seeks to free us all from what we had in the times of religious
hierarchy,
formerly known as the Dark Ages. Folks
have forgotten what that was like, and therefore have no clue what the
first
amendment really means.
Today in America, the original
sentence
from
the Constitution's first amendment is liberally taken as, if not
actually
translated as, something more along the opposite lines from the
original
intended meaning.
6.
Congress shall make a great
number
of
different laws disallowing
any official person,
document, monument or landmark from
containing any concept of the existence of a god.
