Started drumming in a Bob Marley
and the Wailers
tribute band, and later studied under Devan Evans of the Original
Wailers.
Later played some drums for "Word Posse". Influences:
Carlton Barrett, Neil Peart, others.

As a kid
Sicky would beat on the
couch cushions arranged into a drum set. His dad said "I know
nothing about music" and made him dig the dirt out from underneath the
house for a future basement. Sicky's band would later practice
there. There was a laundry shoot, down which Sicky would toss his
sister's stuffed animals to relieve stress...
Sicky
struggled for many years with migraine headaches so agonizing he
thought he would die from them. (Penance for teasing his
sister?) He tried every different colored
pill under the sun, that his many different doctors gave
him. Nothing worked. As he puts it, it felt like "a cruel
alien
was holding a cold wrench on the most sensitive nerve in my
cerebral cortex." He desperately wished he could simply
open up
his
brain,
"and scrape off the pain"...
Finally he discovered a natural cure and
has not had a single migraine since.
He also battled severe chronic
fatigue, possibly worn down by
all the hard manual labor jobs he's endured. He refused to see
any more western doctors, sticking to a
vegetarian
diet, even when faced with lack of understanding. Sicky has always tried
to do what is right, even in
the face of blind ignorance. He managed enough success using only
natural methods to be able to continue pursuing his
dream
of
playing music.
Undaunted, Sicky Rider overcame illness to
become the main back
beat behind Octaman.
He was a late replacement for Squirrely, who's meter was all over
the place...
...who took over for Skippee, who kept skipping out... Sicky is the stomping feet of the band.

in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." II

Interests: Naturopathic medicine,
organic food, health, nutrition,
weight training and
physical fitness, Sicky is currently working out at the
Hair Club for Men. [rim
shot] He was an accomplished dirt
bike rider.
A virulent opponent of
big pharmaceutical companies and the medical
establishment.
he plans a future book - "Perfect Health"
