Mashie once demonstrated
mustard
at a
shopping mall
during Christmas.
Mashie
had a few piano lessons from his mom as a kid, but didn't start
playing until later in life. He was invited to join
the top band in the Northwest, recorded at the top
studio in Seattle with the producer for Steve Miller Band. They
were the house band at clubs like Seattle's Pier 70 and Tacoma's U.P.
Station. After
a year of
rehearsals, dance lessons and touring, Mashie was tossed out of the
band. It happened like this: He had tried
to
protect his
bandmates from a shady character who auditioned for them on
saxophone. He was the only member to vote against adding him, so
they replaced his vibrant sound and stage presence with this new sax
player
and used a tape
recording of bass sounds.
The saxophonist later robbed them blind
and the band broke up soon after.
On another sour note, Mashie's girl friend dumped him once he wasn't in
the band.
Down and out, he went
to work on the lowest rung of the musical ladder, Tower Records.
There
he met the most wonderful lady he's ever known (aside from his
own mother.) "Rose"
got him a birthday
card on his very nervous first day of work, signed by everyone.
They
became friends for life. For
her birthday, Mashie bought the guitar that Rose
had been forced to sell in order to pay rent, and gave it back to her.
He was later fired when he
stood up against sexual harassement of female employees by a cruel
supervisor. Mashie always tried to do what
was right, even in the face
of wrong.
He thought it was time to settle down, and enrolled in college to
become
a
teacher. He was told every day that he was far and away the
leading candidate for
the music class he enrolled in, but then was passed over at the last
moment for someone much less qualified - a rude young kid who couldn't play his way
out
of a paper bag! "He put in his time last year" said the
instructor. "Did he put in 30 years of climbing rock mountain?"
Mashie thought.
That kid would later ruin the band's field
trip
photos by holding up his middle finger.
Mashie thought that the school was such a worthless place
that he withdrew entirely. That year
Rose
died from her battle with diabetes. Literally
beside himself, he didn't know what to
do next...
On a whim, instead of walking
off the
end of Pier 70, he broke out an old set
of golf clubs that his dad got him as a kid
that he had hardly used. He discovered a natural affinity with
golf , a
totally honest game,
training his
mind with greater focus and concentration than ever
before. With just him against the
course, and with no one to tell him he
couldn't do it, in only a few weeks he broke
90. Undaunted, Mashie found even
greater success each time out. He started writing
his own book on golf, and even re-designed the club head.
It was
during that time that
he
answered the call and became the
keyboard
player for "Octaman."
Mashie
Niblick has lived the blues, and is the soul of the band.
Mashie says:
"Never give up, even when you are in the
deepest
rough, and the hard bunkers in life!"
Mashie says:
"I
am offering inexpensive golf lessons. Now if you are
already a pro or low handicapper, I would refer you to a
professional teaching program. However, my low cost, fully
guaranteed
lessons are perfect for beginning to average
players, especially kids. I offer everything from
just getting started to learning how to loose that slice, understanding
how to draw the ball, gaining distance, improving green side
techniques, developing your putting skills, to
course management. Understanding the golf
swing has helped others and I want to help you, mostly because I simply
love
to do it."

Mashie
plays with the least
expensive clubs you can get. Each club is
around 5 or 6 dollars - or less! Only a
driver cost a little more.

Mashie
Niblick proves once and for all
that
golf is a simple, easy game to play. He thinks it's sad that so
many
put so much time and money into what is really a pretty silly thing -
chasing a ball with a stick. Mashie
believes the average tour pro is only slightly better than you can be,
and that is because they just play golf and do almost nothing else. Mashie has a single digit handicap
at his
home course. Watch his driving prowess, style and - grace...

Mashie says it's
sad how many
pros talk incessantly about golf, recounting every shot. It
shows
their lives are really very shallow. He thinks they are in need
of some Bible education! However he does appreciate the
mental and physical benefits of the game. no l
essons. Mashie is
planning a book, "Perfect
Golf" - you
can play
scratch golf without any expensive clubs, teaching equipment or
lessons. You
don't need to
spend lots of time or visit the driving range often.
Just a little creative practice of co-ordination, logic and common
sense.
