and Talking the Faith
While we can certainly carry on a conversation as normally and openly as anyone else, when it comes to the things of God we must "speak as the oracles of God" or to say it another way, we become "God's mouthpieces." The only way this is possible is to be filled with God's holy spirit. And the only way to do that is to partake of the Word of life. The more we study, the more of His spirit we can have, and the better able we can walk after the spirit, and not after the flesh. The flesh is at emnity with God. It is that which wars against the things of the spirit. Briefly, it is anger, malice, envy, jealousy, hatred, and strife, fighting against love, patience, kindness, gentleness and meekness. We are all subject to the ravages of the fall, but we do the "works" of God when we strive not to allow the flesh to gain ascendency. Then we will be walking in the Spirit. First things first. We must be consecrated in order to share in the merit of justification and to have the holy spirit. "Set a watch, O Yahweh, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips." Psalm 141:3 THE number of watchmen, or pickets doing duty and standing guard over our actions and words will be fewer in proportion as the picket line guarding our minds, our thoughts, is a strong one. It is here that we need to be especially on the alert. "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." This general truth is particularly exemplified in the regenerate, who are more open in their conduct and language, proportionately, than others. Having the right sentiments at heart they are less on their guard in respect to their manner of expression perhaps than previously; but all the more, they need to remember the words of the apostle, "If any man sin not with his lips, the same is a perfect man." --James 3:2 Z. a candle -- The candle
light the saints are holding up in the world

powerless to overcome the great mass of darkness. God, in his due time,
will dispel
the darkness of night by causing the sun of righteousness
to arise with healing in its beams. (Mal. 4:2) NS88:3,4 He will
test us and prove whether we are worthy to shine forth as the sun, enlightening
the whole world in a manner with which our little lamps of the

who
see our good works will glorify God in the day of visitation even though

shining will have an effect upon the world, reproving mankind and setting
