This
next song is "Psalm
24"
- a reggae anthem with triumphant horns and rock guitars. At the
half
way point it turns into a dub version featuring a nearly word for
word paraphrase of Pastor Russell's comments from "Time
Is At Hand" chapter V pages 141-142. The Psalm itself is a
paraphrase from the Rotherham Emphasized Bible and the KJV.
I
enjoy writing songs with words from the Bible that seem to sing
from
the pages as I read them, begging for a rythym track to accompany
them. I also feel a similar inspiration when reading
some of Pastor
Russell's works. Here is one song with both the Bible
and the Pastor,
dovetailed together.
Pastor
Russell is the greatest preacher of both the 19th and
the 20th centuries. While many wish to erroneously group
him together
with other religious teachers of our times, he stands far
apart. It
goes beyond the fact that he far surpasses all others in the
test of
competency, relevancy and truthfullness. Pastor Russell is
none other
than "That Servant" as promised by our Lord Himself in
Matthew
24, and guided by the same. No other religious teacher in
our time
comes close to the significance of Pastor Russell. He spoke the
Truth,
which we call "Present
Truth." I hope you enjoy this song as much as I enjoyed
recording it.
