True Understanding
Dear Octaman: I can sympathize with your loss. A dog somehow has a way of entering into our "psyche" in such a way as no other animal can do. When that bond between man and dog is broken, more than just a friendship suffers. Of all the animals placed on earth, none is more loving and loyal to man than a dog. My wife and I have a black and white Alaskan Malamute that we received from a shelter abot 5 years ago. She was about 6-7 years old at the time. She is now approaching the end of her life span and it is very difficult to realize that our wonderful friend and companion will be leaving us sometime within the next 6 months to a year. She has developed arthritis in her rear legs and is no longer to go with us on long walks. She also has a cancerous tumor in the area of her mammary glands. We are determined to make her time with us as loving and comfortable as is possible, and we cherish every moment that she is still with us. If we are allowed to have dogs at the end of restitution, I certainly would desire another Malamute! What a loving dog. My friend, I feel your loss. Perhaps in time you will take another dog into your life and give it as much love and care as you appear to have done with your departed friend! God Bless and comfort you at this time. Bro. Harold |
